Description:
 

Tungsten carbide powder (WC) is the main raw material for producing cemented carbide, chemical 

formula is WC, its hardness is close to diamond. 
 
Features of TC powder: highly stable chemical property, good electrical and thermal conductivity, 

melting point: 2870℃, boiling point: 6000℃, relative density: 15.63(18℃). Tungsten carbide is 

insoluble in water, hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid, while it can dissolves in nitric & hydrofluoric mixed 

acid. Pure tungsten carbide phase is original brittle, but if blended with certain amount of titanium, 

cobalt or other metals, toughness will relatively increase.
 
Our tungsten carbide powder is manufactured by the conventional method-carburization of tungsten

powder. During the process, C atoms disperse to tungsten matrix, serve as a interstitial solid solution 

phase, significantly increasing powder hardness.
 
The average particle size and particle size distribution of the original tungsten powder determine size

and distribution of the WC powder.
